LOCAL HEROES ABROAD

UAE local heroes competing against the world. From racecar drivers to quad racers and motocrossers, some of Dubai's residents are currently abroad testing and racing across the shores of the UAE.

Sam Sunderland

Sam Sunderland competed in 2 races in the Australian Motocross National Series. His talent on a KTM is being put to the test, racing against the best riders down-under. Not being familiar with the tracks and racing in bigger fields and tougher competition, Sam's results were not as good as he had hoped for but still very compelling for a one-off show. More details about Sam's races in a later article.

VDS Racing Adventures Mustang

Karim Al Azhari, one of Dubai's best road racers was in Belgium testing the VDS Racing Adventures Mustang in the GT3 class for the 24hrs of Spa. This was the same car he drove during the 24Hrs of Dubai earlier in the year and was invited to take the wheel of the American V8 once more based on his performance at the Dubai Autodrome. Expect great results from Karim (as usual) at the 24Hrs of Spa at the end of July.

Obaid Echtibi

The top 3 ATV racers of Dubai, Sebastian Husseini, Mohammed Al Shamsi and Obaid Echtibi are still finalizing their sponsorship packages for their bid at the 12-hour enduro in France (Pont De Vaux). Having already confirmed their preferred race-quad, the KTM 525 XC ATV, the very same quad that Sebastian rode in last year's Le Touquet beach race, the 3 riders are almost set for the 12-hour enduro.
